The King went to that big concert in the sky thirty years ago this month. Whatever you think about Elvis, he certainly had a HUGE effect on popular music and culture all over the world. He was a true original and made black rhythm and blues into white rock 'n roll that influenced everyone who came after him. He was so good that many people who heard him on the radio in the early days, not knowing what he looked like, thought he was black.
