I am not a Republican or a Democrat. I am registered as an Independent. Some have called me a "neocon". So be it. I am a hawk on defense and a liberal on many social and religious matters. That being said, the veto by President Bush, his first, of the stem cell bill is ridiculous. Many lives could be saved if we could stop being so short-sighted about scientific research. Religious beliefs have no place in public policy. If Catholics (I am one) or other religious groups have a problem with abortion and stem cell research I feel they have a right to voice that opinion, but not to shape secular law.

Yup, I'm greatful I did not vote for this idiot .. these screwed conservatives are so damned concerned about the unborn, but as soon as they pop out of the woumb, they don't give a shit about them any more .. unless of course they grow up to be soldiers for them .. I swear we need aprerequsite qualification process for presidential candidates .. minimum requirement .. at least one sign of a neurotransmitter jumping a synaptic junction ..
