Sandra. Again.

Recently I ran into Sandra again. She was someone I met ten years ago at a previous job. Sandra was the kind of friend that I was wary of, The Work Buddy. Work Buddies never seem to last outside of the office. After I left that job, we lost contact. We then ran into each other a few years ago at the mall. We hung out, went out to the movies, etc. Then I got into a fight with her last New Year's Eve over something silly. So, imagine my surprise when, last month, I bumped into her, again, as she was leaving a bookstore. I live in a big city, and chance meetings are rare. She said hello, so did I, and that was that. She didn't seem mad anymore, and neither was I. I took this as a sign. In fact, I had told myself if I ever ran into her again, I would call and see if we could pick up where we left off, as friends. I did, she agreed, and here we are again... I learned not to be so hard on people from this experience. Friends are hard to find, and even harder to keep.
